Alyssa's Law is currently under consideration in the State of Michigan, initially introduced as AB4241 and AB4242 on March 9, 2023, and later as SB0076 and SB0077 on February 11, 2025, sponsored by Senators Michael Webber and John Damoose. These bills have been referred to the Appropriations Committee for further review.

Alyssa’s Law calls for the implementation of silent panic alert systems in schools to improve law enforcement response times during emergencies. As this legislation advances, Michigan schools are encouraged to assess their current safety protocols and begin the process of aligning with the law’s requirements. Taking proactive steps now not only prepares districts for future compliance but also reinforces their commitment to creating safer learning environments.

The Audio Enhancement EPIC Public Address System fully meets the requirements of Alyssa’s Law, offering silent panic alert capabilities through SAFE Alert, integration with existing security systems, and real-time communication tools. Additionally, the system comes pre-loaded with The “I Love U Guys” Foundation’s Standard Response Protocols (SRPs), making it easy for schools to implement a clear, consistent approach to emergency response that is already recognized and adopted nationwide.

By combining advanced alert technology with proven emergency procedures like the SRPs and Standard Reunification Method (SRM), schools can significantly enhance their ability to respond quickly, communicate clearly, and protect students and staff when every second counts.
